Chimney Cleaning

Soot and creosote removal for wood-burning fireplace chimneys.

When wood burns, it leaves soot and creosote on the inside of your chimney. Creosote is a sticky, flammable buildup that grows thicker with every fire. Chimney cleaning removes this buildup from the flue so smoke can rise and leave your home the way it should.

What’s included

  • Visual check of the firebox, damper and accessible flue
  • Brushing of the flue to remove soot and creosote
  • Cleaning of the smoke chamber and firebox area
  • Vacuum containment to keep dust out of your living space
  • Notes on anything we see that needs more attention

Signs you may need chimney cleaning

  • You use your fireplace often in winter
  • You smell smoky odors in the room, especially in warm weather
  • Smoke drifts into the room when you light a fire
  • You see black flakes or debris in the firebox
  • You cannot remember the last time the chimney was cleaned

Why it matters in Arizona

Fireplaces in Flagstaff, Prescott, Show Low and other higher-elevation towns see heavy use in winter. Even in the valley, a fireplace used only a few times a year still collects soot. Cleaning before the cool season starts is a smart habit.
